One more 'beep' story b/c it just occurred to me and actually involves a beep. :D

Last summer, my sister came home and no one was here. She was 18 years old at the time. She came inside the house and it was beeping.

Everyone knows that when the batteries in a fire alarm about to die, the whole thing beeps to let you know that the batteries need changing.

Well, my sister had never heard such beeping before and didn't know this. So she comes in the house and her first thought is "OMG! The house is beeping! It's going to blow up!'

She retrieves the two dogs (both teacup poodles) from their pen in the garage and gets in her little 1985 CRX and drives ... to the top of the driveway. There's a parking spot there and she sits in that parking spot, in her car, with a dog beneath each arm.

Mind you, if the house was actually going to blow up, she's in the blast radius.

She doesn't call anyone with her concerns and proceeds to sit in the car for 45 minutes. My father finally comes home and as he's driving down the driveway, she gets out of her car and runs down the driveway with a dog beneath each arm, yelling at him to not go in the house because it's going to blow up.

Needless to say, she will NEVER live this down. And yes, she was 18 at the time this story took place. :D

An ode to the ever elusive beep XD
