Did you ever have one of THOSE days?

Yesterday BLEW CHUNKS.  I'm just not willing to rehash it all, so here's the highlights.

Packed.  Cough came back with a vengeance.  Went to pick up boxes.  Had wreck. (Hung UP on [personal profile] seegrim.  Sorry. )  Colin's bumper is mushed.  Came home.  Nolan snarked. SIL took kids.  Car wouldn't start because children turned on interior light.  Couldn't teach class.   Friend came to jump car off.  Had dinner with in laws.

Termite treatment cost $1200.  TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS.  For a house that as of 1:00 today, we no longer own.

Also, termite guy knocked something loose under the house, and the phones aren't working properly.  I'm pirating Internet from one of the neighbors.  *raises coffee mug* Thanks, pal, whoever you are.  No one can go under the house to fix it for a few days beacuase evidently the termite fumes will make you grow an extra head or something.  So I'm using my cell phone for all calls, which costs a bazillion dollars.

That was yesterday.  God willing today will be better.  And I'd post pics of the trip, but my USB cable for the camera isn't working properly.

Really?  Not working?  You kidding me?

Nope.

And the move in date keeps ketting pushed back, and it's seriously pissing me off.  First it was Friday, then Sunday, Now it's Tuesday or Wednesday?  There are people moving in to this house on next Thursday do it would be freaking HELPFUL if our new house were done by then.

By the way, the new house?  It's very pretty.  And the landscaping is beautiful.  And I'm grateful.  I feel like Cinderella, like this house can't possibly be mine.  If, that is, I ever get to PUT MY STUFF IN IT.

SIL is coming to help me pack.  I'll try not to cough up a lung into the box of table linens.

And P.S.  I miss Caliga.  Miss it terribly.  Having serious withdrawals.  Got giddy over OWLS yesterday.  One more week, one more week, one more week.  Right?  i can do a week standing on my head.

Not that I'd want to.

HOLY COW WOMAN! Yesterday DID blow chunks! Who knew all that crappy stuff could happen in ONE day?

I hope this week is better dear... and I'm sure Celeste will forgive your for hanging up on her... I hang up on Kelly ALL the time.. it's the headset - I put the phone in my pocket so I can get things done and then bang it against the counter and hang up on her. *sighs*

But yes - no coughing up a lung and I don't think standing on your head is a good idea either. Good LUCK! :D

I know! Crappy stuff should have the decency to spread itself out over a series of different days!

I hope it gets better, real life really can be a pain some days. My mentor keeps telling me to think on the positive and they multiply *crosses fingers* maybe that'll help you?

[identity profile] persephone33.livejournal.com 2008-03-26 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
It'll all be okay. I just keep thinking, "Things have to get better! They HAVE to!"

[identity profile] alluringt-light.livejournal.com 2008-03-26 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Just think about it this way.

In about 1 week? 2 weeks? you'll have your dream house and you can put your feet up and relax.

*nods head wisely*

I hope everything gets better soon though. You sure had a rough day. I hope you get better too.. coughing one's lung out isn't the most pleasant thing to do.

I know. Eye on the prize, right?

Thanks for the well wishes!

Awww, it's okay, Miss Crankypants. :( Poor Colin! At least your old house is now closed on, so that's a...plus-? Sorry about the termite bill - ouch! Yep, kids and dome lights. The little dears just don't get 'em, do they?

Man, I hate when they push the closing date back on a new house, but it is rather common. They give you a date and then say (as the date approaches): "Oh, my gosh, did we say August? What were we thinking? We meant October!" (Well, that's how it was for us, anyway. Thankfully, we were renters and our landlord let us stay as many extra months as we needed to. It was just annoying having to start another new school year in the old house when we had planned to be gone by then. Grrr....)

Hang in there. Your new house sounds wonderful. And with any luck, you'll get your fic exchange gift soon, and that will cheer you up (provided you have internet so you can read it). :) If not, call me and I'll read it to you. *hem, hem - as if I could read half as well as the voice of the D/G podcasts!*

I'd listen! I sound rather like a frog right now, anyway.

And we were supposed to be in January 1.

*laughs manaically*

Ahem. Yes. Termites and dome lights aside, things are bound to look up soon.

Ouch! That is quite possibly the worst day ever. Just think, it's over now and you can look forward to tomorrow, which will be infinitely better, because I'm sure there's a law about repeating days like that...

[identity profile] persephone33.livejournal.com 2008-03-26 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
If there's not, there definitely OUGHT to be. :)

[identity profile] embe11ished.livejournal.com 2008-03-26 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds absolutely awful! I can't even imagine. A least all that awfulness piled up at once means you should be due for a nice long stretch of good luck, right? I certainly hope that happens!

[identity profile] 13oct.livejournal.com 2008-03-27 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
*ouch* You poor, poor thing. I hope the rest of the week goes brilliantly for you to make up for this.

Have you seen a doc for your cough? To be sick while you move... ugh!

[identity profile] dieloreley.livejournal.com 2008-03-27 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Um... I was going to leave this as a surprise, but if it hasn't come yet, maybe it'll make you smile. Your birthday present (trinket? It could be, it's that small) is in the mail and the fingers and toes are crossed that it'll get to you before you leave! (It should do, it's been nearly 4 weeks!)

Get better soon. Please don't work yourself too hard. Please please please. And I hope Colin feels better too.

Can you call a time-out? Because it sounds like you need one. SiL sounds really helpful, so yay for her! I'd bake her cookies but I think they'd go stale in the mail. *growls at Australia Post*

HUZZAH for Cinderella house! Lots of pictures, please?

*pat pat*

If you have a really long telephone cord, you can plug it into the NID thingie on the side of the house (thus bypassing the knocked-loose thingie under the house) and bring it into the house through a window or a door. You'd only have the one phone, but one phone that is not your cell phone would be a good thing, no?

Also, do you have your C of O on the new place yet? If yes, then you can move in and shuffle stuff around for the last few weeks until the house is completed.

Dude.

*pets*

If it's all concilliation (likely not), Caliga missses you too. Hang in there.

[identity profile] persephone33.livejournal.com 2008-03-29 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
It does make me feel better. :)

One more week. One more week.

I love your Caliga character icons, too! FUN!
