Oh, dear.

My AVG thingy on my laptop has been running a test for 50 minutes on what it says is a Trojan Horse, which sounds ominous and potentially dangerous.

Any thoughts on what I should do? *is scared for Aidan*

Also, where the crap did I put the suitcases? Seriously. I've looked for 30 minutes. Where are they?

And lastly,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY [personal profile] nbaeker! You're both adorable and loved.

I had to switch from AVG when I got a particularly stubborn trojan last year. Kaspersky is very popular over here and it offers a full program trial period (http://klacampaign.kaspersky.com.au/front.aspx?campaign=go01). I find it handles everything without a drama :)

As for your suitcases, I think I saw them... oh, hang on, those were my suitcases ;P

AVG is not really suited for running anti-spyware operations, even though it thinks it is.

Download Adaware SE and run that puppy on your lappy. It should clean up your trojan... if it doesn't, there used to be a thing on the Trend Micro site that does a pretty good job, too.

I'd avoid Kaspersky. It has corrupted the network stuff on a number of our boxes down at the tampa office, which wasn't pretty. (Sort of like removing a splinter by cutting off the finger.)

Yeah, AVG's pretty good at finding stuff, it's getting rid of it that's the problem.

What's the name of the trojan?

Eeps! I have Trend Micro now so maybe you could see about switching. AVG ended up giving me problems (and Kian, but hey new laptops are made of win, right?)

Hrm, where is the least likely place you would put the suitcases? That is where I usually find things!

I hope your day gets better, hon.

I love my Trend Microcillin - but trojans are icky. I hope Aidan is okay. :(

You left the suitcases under the stairs.

and YAY for Nicole's birthday! :D

Um, why don't you try setting fire to it? The trojan, that is. That's what the Trojans should have done during the war.
