Food Porn

I started to write a post that was whiny and self indulgent, but I deleted it in one fell swoop.  That's the good thing about computers.  Nothing to wad up, no paper wasted, just highlight and CLICK, and it's gone.  And I try to live by the axiom, 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.'  That's fricking hard, sometimes.

In lieu of being Mopey McMoperson, I'll enlist your help.  My college roommate is coming to visit Monday evening for dinner and bringing along her family.  I've been looking at recipes, and wondering what to make while they're here. So if you had the below to choose from, or wanted to see a "Cooking with Carrie How-To," which would you want?  You can choose more than one.  ;)

Mushroom Casserole

Chocolate Peanut Butter Dream Bars

Roast Pork Loin with Garlic and Rosemary

Salmon Burgers with Lemon-Herb Sauce

Lemon Tart

Coffee Caramel Creme Brulee

Herb Roasted Lamb Chops

Cheesy Chicken and Mushroom Lasagna

Milk Chocolate Malted Ice Cream

Who's hungry?  My goodness.  I'm about to go raid the cupboards, I think.

Mushroom casserole and lemon tart.

Also, you're allowed to have bad days and whiny, self indulgent posts. Nobody expects you to be perfect. If you get TOO whiny, I'd tell you... but you so rarely go that way I don't really see it being an issue.

Whatever is eating at you (no pun intended), I'm hereby angry at it (or them) on your behalf.

E) All of the above.

I vote for the salmon burgers (which sound amazing) and the creme brulee. Wow.

OOOH yum.... it's hard to choose... I' love to see the chicken and mushroom lasagna or the lamb chops or the ice cream.

and I know ALL ABOUT mopey and self-indulgant posts (*points to my last doozy*) so I think you are all sorts of awesome for being able to just click no. *hugs you*

I'd go for either the roast pork loin with garlic and rosemary or the herb roasted lamb chops with the lemon tart :)

You're allowed to be whiney and self indulgent whenever you need to be.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Dream Bars

I vote for Cheesy Chicken and Mushroom Lasagna. :) But they all sound so GOOD. Like, yum. ;)

I embody whiny and self-indulgent most of the time, but that's probably normal teen angst ;) And I always thought that axiom was directed at other people.

Yes.

All of them. :)

Lemon tart! Failing that, um, all the rest of them?

[identity profile] mugglechump.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
I am really hungry. The mushroom casserole, pork loin, and creme brulee are especially intriguing.

I'm sorry you're feeling mopey. I know how that goes. *hugs*

I vote for roast pork and creme brulee. Although look at Sharffenberger(SP?) web site it has a super easy scrumptious chocolate gelato. It all sounds great!Thank goodness Tom is right now making waffles!Mom

I'm totally voting for the Coffee Caramel Creme Brulee... and the Pork Loin...

And yes, I'm off to raid the cupboards :-)

I'm with the Pork Loin & Creme Brulee crowd... or Lemon Tart. But they all sound good. Are there picky children in the mix? I know your kids eat anything, but some of us are not so lucky. *is not being whiny and self-indulgent* *I have PMS and the world shall endure my whiny self-indulgence! for a little while*
