How much do I love my dog?

Apparently $140 dollars worth.  I swear, the Katie goes to the vet more often that the rest of us go to the doctor.  But she's almost 9 years old, we've had her longer than either one of the kids, and to be honest, she doesn't KNOW she's a dog.  

She's a spoiled rotten brat princess with a horrible ear infection, but I lurrrve her.

I have lipstick smudged under my nose in this pic.  Must find a way to photoshop that out.

There was a guy with a bull mastiff at the vet this morning.  It was the size of a Shetland Pony, maybe a little bigger.  230 lbs!  Makes Kate (at 64 lbs) seem tiny.  It didn't stop her from growling at him, even though he could've eaten her for a mid morning snack!

She is ridiculously spoiled. Doesn't even bother to get off the couch when we come home anymore; she just sits there like she owns it!

I had a dog like that once. He was a kelpie cross and liked to challenge bigger dogs, but only when he knew he was perfectly safe - like at a set of traffic lights, where the two cars are going to travel away from each other ;)

She's so sweet to humans, it's just other dogs that she has an issue with. I think it's because she doesn't know she's one of them. ;)

I love dogs too. Both my husband and I grew up with dogs around us. Sadly with our lifestyle of shifting cities like mad, we can't really afford to have any pets. *sigh*

I can so relate to your Katie story. Had a Lab like that...

I think people with dogs smile more. She's such a source of joy for me. Less so when she was going through her "puppy" phase... several pair of slippers - shredded.

She's an excellent dog. I feel safe in the house with her around, so I guess coughing up the cash to make her feel better is fine.
