I'm sorry. You did WHAT?

My husband, usually a good father, sometimes makes SPECTACULARLY bad choices in parenting.

He let the boys (4 & 6, thankyouverymuch) watch Lady in the Water, because he said that it was A BEDTIME STORY.  

*tries to refrain from calling own husband an idiot*

Maybe M. Night Shaymaylan's Kids aren't as easily spooked as mine, but mine haven't slept through the night since.  They dragged their pillows and blankets into our room and slept on the floor one night, and I went into their room for about an hour last night.  I'm done, though.  Hubby will be the one soothing and cajoling and reassuring tonight.  

Oh, who am I kidding.  Hubby  has a lot of talents, but those three aren't on the list.

Poor Aaron is still sick.  I took him to the Doctor, and he doesn't have strep or the flu, but a fever and a wicked cough that doesn't seem to be getting better.  Breathing treatments (All hail the almighty nebulizer), cough medicine and Tylenol.  Anyone have any advice?  What makes you feel better when you're sick?

Meanwhile, Mummy is steadily on the path to crazy town...  not one moment by myself in a week...

Sort of reminds me of the time my husband took my then 4 yo daughter on "The Tower of Terror" at some theme park. You take a spooky, decrepit elevator to the top and then it falls all the way to the ground. WTF? She wrote about it a year later and read it aloud to her class and all the associated parents. She got a ton of laughs when she said, "I still haven't forgiven you for that, Daddy." Then everyone turned and stared at me. My husband was NOT in attendance, of course! *facepalm*

*hugs to Aaron* That is miserable when it drags on and on. Chicken soup, steamy baths or showers, tv to take my mind off how miserable I feel and lots of pampering! I hope he feels better soon.

Thanks, Aaron has perked up a great deal. I just had to tell him not to jump on the bed, so... drastic improvement from this morning.

I hate being sick. I'm sick at the mo' too and I'm sure the kids will get it too. That'll be fun. :( When the boys are sick they are pretty inconsolable. All they want is hugs and cuddles - and I want them to sleep. Sorry I can't be more help. :(

Fluids and loads of them! Pineapple juice is probably the best for his chest (it has acids that break down phlegm), but orange juice will do the job as well. Apart from that I can't think of anything that you're not already doing by the sounds.

I hope he's feeling better soon *hugs*

The pineapple juice trick was passed down through the generations of my hubby's family, so it's one of those really old remedies that often gets forgotten in preference to commercial medicine :)

My mom has sworn by it her whole life. I used to couldn't stand it but it works GREAT... for me and Melody. They even make a milder Vicks Baby Rub if the regular is too strong! Rub it all over the chest and under the nose... on the back too if he is really bad. Hope he gets better soon! Nothing worse than having a sick lil' one! Except for when you have a sick lil' one and a sick daddy... LOL

When I got scared (oh, who am I kidding, when I GET scared), I like to cuddle up with my daddy. He's nice and strong and will protect me, thinks my 6 y.o. mind. I'm not sure about little boys, but Daddy was always my protector... Try that? I say make him suffer for it. :P Hope you're not still having to comfort them...

As for Aaron, I love honey, lemon and water when my throat hurts. Singers swear by honey, so it must do *some* good. My bestie takes a teaspoonful of Manuka Honey when she's sick, I'm not sure if you can get it in the States?

I hope you get some alone time soon, because we love Perse and don't want her to go crazy!
