Not a lot to tell, lately. Simple facts, are, I haven't been doing much.

We try, most nights, to have dinner together as a family. Honestly, this is like an exercise in torture for the most part. It's nothing like anything you've ever seen on TV, where we talk about our day and the kids bring up life issues for the parents to solve. Ususally it has to do with me saying repeatedly, "Use a napkin," and "Get your elbows off the table," and "Please chew with your mouth closed."

Sidenote? Not ONCE last weekend, did I have to ask Celeste to chew with her mouth closed.

Anyway, I asked AJ to set the table one night, and when I walked over, this is what I saw.

Upon closer inspection, I saw that it was a note that he'd written, presumably to his brother.

"Dot (sic) take this spot or els (sic)," With a fierce skull and crossbones. I'm not going to lie. I shivered.

Ethan, however, walked over and untaped the paper from the table and stuck it to another spot. Punk. Chaos ensued. THAT'S supper at our house.

Then, Stephanie and I found this little sweetheart when I made her go out on the four and a half mile death march yesterday. I swear I told her to "Shoo!" about 50 times, but she ended up following us home, anyway. (The dog, not Steph.)

I'm completely in love. It looks like a german shepherd, and she's definitely a puppy, but she's timid and sweet and shy, and sits immediately when you approach her, then lies on her back for a belly rub. She's ADORABLE. Ask me if I need another dog. Go on, ask.

*sigh* I've been calling her Eliza. Katie is not amused. Abbey's happy to have another dog recognize that she's there.

And I got a sweet surprise in my mailbox yesterday! Thanks so, so, so much for the letter and the goodies, [livejournal.com profile] heyurs! You're a darling!
