Last Friday, when I was driving the kids to school, I mentioned that we'd be going to a Valentine's dance. I was not prepared for Ethan's reply.
Ethan: Ohhhh! There'll be girls. And cupcakes. And girls.
*sigh*
I'm really unsure as to which he was more excited about. I am most certainly NOT ready for middle school.
In other news, we've made a list of things that the boys are responsible for, with consequences for when the individual items aren't met. Does this seem fair, in your opinion? Other mothers of children on the f-list, I'd appreciate you weighing in.

Ethan and Aaron's TO DO List
1. Collect trash from all rooms and take to the dumpster (#15) at least once a week.
2. Keeps upstairs in order. This means bedrooms, playroom and bathroom.
3. Put dirty clothes in the laundry room or the laundry basket, keep it tidy.
4. Hang up towels after your shower.
5. Keep shoes, hats, coats, etc. in their proper place.
6. Keep the dogs' water dish filled. They'll appreciate it.
7. Put clean laundry in correct drawers or closets.
8. Clean up dogs' stuff in the backyard once a week.
9. Put dirty dishes in the dishwasher, or take them to the sink.
10. Keep downstairs free and clear of toys, books, etc., and keep stairs empty.
11. Do your homework without being asked.
12. Do not lie.
13. Do not fight, bicker, yell or antagonize each other.
14. Give proper responses: Yes, Ma'am, no, sir, etc.
15. Turn off lights when you leave a room, close doors, drawers, etc. when you're finished with them.
