I'm blessed to have a great dad. He's a sweetheart. He's even tempered, has a dark sense of humor laced with a sarcasm that is only rivaled by my own, is a great conversationalist, and if I had to choose someone to go 'rat killing' (read: running errands) with, it will always be him. He doesn't get in a hurry with anything, always has some good advice, ("Don't sweat the small stuff, Care,") and always knows exactly when just to shut the hell up, and let his daughter make her own mistakes.
Plus, how cute was he as a kid?

He reminds me of Aaron.

Here at perhaps sixteen?

Here he is in his early twenties. I think he's handsome. :)

And here's the obligatory 1970's dorky golf picture. It makes me laugh.

This was my 21st birthday, and he'd come over to take me and my sister out to breakfast.

I forget what we were doing this day. ;) Truthfully, I can't remember what the father/daughter song was. Frank Sinatra, maybe? It was a waltz, though, I remember that. Dad's a great dancer. I remember standing on his feet as a little girl and us dancing around the living room.

(here with Ethan as a newborn)
However great of a daddy he is, he's an even better grandpa. I can't tell you how it blesses my heart to see him get down in the floor and play with the kids, whether it is wrestling around or watching a movie, or playing it the sprinkler; Dad is always right there in the thick of it with them.
Especially if it's silly string. :D

Regardless of what it is, the boys love their Papa Jim.

And I've gotta say, I do, too.
Happy father's day, Daddy. I love you bunches and bunches!
