I totally missed my calling.

If ever there was someone who loved dressing up, wearing jewelry, furs and diamonds, and having people tell them how pretty they are, IT IS ME.

Pretty is as pretty does, though.  It's a true statement of fact.  Mom said.

Hairspray and mascara doesn't hurt, though.

The pictures are just the ones we shot with our own cameras, and some I stole off facebook from the other girls.  We have to wait until December for the professional ones.  But these capture the spirit of it all.

More glamour than I've ever been involved with, that's for sure. )

Would I like to be forty pounds thinner?  Yeah, maybe.  Did I have a fanfreakingtastic time, anyway?  I sure did.  I loved every second of it.  My solo shot was me in a plexiglass display case, like a (sort of chubby) mannequin.  Can't WAIT to see those shots.
I should be cleaning house for home group.

Meh.

I was super responsible yesterday. It all balances out.

These aren't the professional photos. These are the ones that happened behind the scenes. )

And that's about it. Now I really must go work. Costumes and vacuums and baking and so forth. See ya around!

Juvenile delinquents, hat hair, gooberheads and platypuses.  )
I'm blessed to have a great dad. He's a sweetheart. He's even tempered, has a dark sense of humor laced with a sarcasm that is only rivaled by my own, is a great conversationalist, and if I had to choose someone to go 'rat killing' (read: running errands) with, it will always be him. He doesn't get in a hurry with anything, always has some good advice, ("Don't sweat the small stuff, Care,") and always knows exactly when just to shut the hell up, and let his daughter make her own mistakes.

Plus, how cute was he as a kid?

He reminds me of Aaron.

...to my Daddy! )

Happy father's day, Daddy. I love you bunches and bunches!

I made heart-shaped strawberry cake truffles today for a little valentine dance soiree we're attending this evening.

As ever, my boys came in from their parties at school so high I could SMELL the sugar on them, and when I said, "Hey look what mommy made today!" they gave me a pitying look, patted me, and proceeded to go outside and run off the buzz, presumably.

So I have to share with you nice people. If I'd wanted someone to oooh and ahhh over my art and sewing and cooking, I should've had a girl. Too late now, because THAT ship has sailed.

Anyhoo, on to the pictures.

The rest under a cut, because I know how some of you like your clutter-free friend pages... )

Day 8 without Aidan. Going into serious withdrawals.
