I must want to never stop moving.

But as long as I'm having fun, what the hell, right?

Here's what I've been up to, in case anyone has the burning desire to know.

You, know, the usual. Martha Stewart with cuter hair and better makeup. )

That's enough for the present, I think. :)
I finished my [livejournal.com profile] dgficexchange story.

Can I get a Hallelujah?

I think that might be the last D/G I write by myself, that is, one not RPG style. I'm interested in the Bones and Big Bang Theory fandoms lately; I've been lurking around over there pretty regularly for a month or more. They seem like nice people.

Anyway, that's finished, so I went ahead and got all creative and made Easter egg cake truffles.

You know you want to see. )

SO... I've been very productive. Now, what to write next?

P.S. Five more days until my lent fast of no bread, meat and sweets is ovah! Woot! Come on, Easter! (And the celebration of Christ's ressurection, obviously, not just so I can chow down on a cheeseburger.)

Remember THIS project?

I'm done.

Before the earthquake in Haiti last month, my husband and several good friends of his were set to go on a mission trip to Deschapelles, to help put a second story on one of the orphanages there. After the tragedy in January, their trip was postponed indefinitely. Now it's back on, and Nolan is going soon to do electricity and framing and plumbing, those sort of construction-y things. They're going to have an opportunity to take a lot of things with them that these people don't have, as well: food and clothes, supplies, and the woman leading the team is going to do a women's ministry in the neighboring village, so I volunteered to make my handy dandy tote bags, as gifts to give out.

They're awfully pretty, if I do say so myself. )

If you're bent that way, I know all of these men and their wives would appreciate your good thoughts and fervent prayers, that they'll touch lives, share the love of Christ and return home safely next week.

For Lent this year, I felt God was saying to delve a little deeper than I normally do, so for the next 40 days, I won't be eating bread, meat or sweets. It'll make Easter all the sweeter. :)

So obviously to celebrate that decision, and to perhaps test the limits of my self-control, I decided to make peanut butter truffles that I saw on Bakerella's site. Makes sense, right?

Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffle Recipe and Tutorial )

I won't be eating these or anything like them for 40 days. *sigh* Any of you giving something up for Lent?

I made heart-shaped strawberry cake truffles today for a little valentine dance soiree we're attending this evening.

As ever, my boys came in from their parties at school so high I could SMELL the sugar on them, and when I said, "Hey look what mommy made today!" they gave me a pitying look, patted me, and proceeded to go outside and run off the buzz, presumably.

So I have to share with you nice people. If I'd wanted someone to oooh and ahhh over my art and sewing and cooking, I should've had a girl. Too late now, because THAT ship has sailed.

Anyhoo, on to the pictures.

The rest under a cut, because I know how some of you like your clutter-free friend pages... )

Day 8 without Aidan. Going into serious withdrawals.
So we're going to a superbowl party tonight.

I'm all about being social. But I had to Google who was playing.

In my defense, I'll bet most of you can't name four plays by Henrik Ibsen off the top of your head. (Ghosts, Hedda Gabler, A Doll's House and...  okay three.  Three plays by Henrik Ibsen)

Anyway, football makes not even the least bit of difference to me, except that I wanted to make cute little snacks to take with us. :D I also had to Google what a football looked like so I could make these:

Seriously.  Are they cute, or what?

I also made turtles. How-to under the cut! )
I know, I know, two posts in one day. But seriously.  SERIOUSLY.

I am woman, hear me roar. I planted 4 flats of flowers, made beef wellington for dinner, and made...

...these cute little bites of yum. )Did I clean up any of the messes from earlier?

Pfft. Nope.
