Trust me, it only gets better after 30. :)

This is how I think of Em as a little kid. She loved that blanket to tatters, and we all thought the fact that she sucked those two fingers was so adorable. :)

She couldn't even wait forit to dry on the clothesline after being washed.
More fingers. And examples of unfortunate 80's loungewear. She totally pulled it off, though, didn't she?

An expert baker, even back then. Look at the pigtails in the mirror behind her! CUTE!

Made all the cuter by the fact that I was rather an ugly duckling.:D

I dragged her everywhere, though. Even up trees!

Waking up after the Easter bunny came! (Did anyone else have to have those pink rollers smush into your head while you slept? Pain for beauty!

Later that morning... the rollers were worth it.

Remember when Dad's hair was brown?!

What are two native Texans doing in these shirts? Granny sent them :)

With her sweet husband, while they were dating.

And with her family today.
I'm so very proud of the woman you've become, Emily. You are stronger, smarter and more vibrant today than you've ever been. (And that's saying something!) You're an example of a Godly woman to those around you, and I am proud to call you my sister!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILY!!!!
(and Carrie - you were NOT an ugly duckling... I'm just sayin' - both you girls are utterly gorgeous! :D)
And I think I had that exact same outfit (in the unfortunate 80s loungewear picture). Sad. ;)

My Dorothy Hammill glasses were hideous. Coupled with the fact that I got braces and really didn't grow out of that whole "awkward" phase til I was 15... Yikes!

(The horror of the 80's loungerwear hasn't worn off yet *shudder* I had one in every color known to man. *facepalm*)
