This is the beepingest house I've ever been in. Everything beeps. EVERYTHING!
For the first couple of weeks, it really unnerved me, and I would go from room to room, checking things out. For example. There's an alarm on the refrigerator, that beeps when someone doesn't close the door. Both the washer and dryer beep when there's a problem or they've finished their cycle. The oven timer chimes, and continues to chime once a minute until you turn it off. The microwave beeps until you press cancel. The fire alarms are OH MY GOODNESS loud, and the coffeemaker beeps when it finishes brewing its carafe and when the burner goes off. I'm not even counting all of the boy's toys that make some sort of goshawful noise. Plus the noise of phones and missed calls on my cell phone and trillian and google chat on a daily basis...
But something is beeping this morning, and I can't figure out where it's coming from. I don't recognize the beep, and I can't distinguish where it's source is exactly. It goes off about once an hour; I feel like I'm going out of my ever-loving mind. It's as if someone is watching me, nudging their friend going, "Watch this, man. Watch what she does when I push this button."
*shakes fist at imaginary, invisible men* I don't think it's funny!

And Aaron was waiting for his toast to pop up, and made an observation.
Aaron. There's dust on this picture.
Ethan. (Scoffs) Where isn't there dust?
Guess who gave the little darlings dustcloths and told them to remedy the situation? That's right. Me. Mumzilla. In my defense, this is the Texas panhandle. I could dust one day and it would look like I hadn't done a thing three days later. However, that is what you get when you criticize my cleaning prowess. :D
And if you are making it beep in my house, stop please. The voices in my head simply can't take it. ;)

I love it when they're at that age. Mine is 13 and it doesn't work anymore. *sigh*

Ohh I hope you figure out the beep! I remember a nine hour car drive with a toy beeping that we couldn't get to since we were moving. *headdesk*

I feel the need to share my 'beep' story, that wasn't really a beep.
When I first got my computer, not long after I'd downloaded all this cool stuff on it, every night at 8 o'clock, it would howl. YES, howl. Like a wolf. I srsly thought something was living in my computer. IT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HOWL AT ME WHEN I'M HOME ALONE >.> Anyways, it took me weeks to figure out that if my Mac-friendly bittorrent downloader was on at 8 o'clock at night, it howled for some reason. So, no matter if I'm downloading something or not, I always turn it off so that my computer does not talk to me.
I mean, I've already got enough people that talk to me that no one else can see >.>

Last summer, my sister came home and no one was here. She was 18 years old at the time. She came inside the house and it was beeping.
Everyone knows that when the batteries in a fire alarm about to die, the whole thing beeps to let you know that the batteries need changing.
Well, my sister had never heard such beeping before and didn't know this. So she comes in the house and her first thought is "OMG! The house is beeping! It's going to blow up!'
She retrieves the two dogs (both teacup poodles) from their pen in the garage and gets in her little 1985 CRX and drives ... to the top of the driveway. There's a parking spot there and she sits in that parking spot, in her car, with a dog beneath each arm.
Mind you, if the house was actually going to blow up, she's in the blast radius.
She doesn't call anyone with her concerns and proceeds to sit in the car for 45 minutes. My father finally comes home and as he's driving down the driveway, she gets out of her car and runs down the driveway with a dog beneath each arm, yelling at him to not go in the house because it's going to blow up.
Needless to say, she will NEVER live this down. And yes, she was 18 at the time this story took place. :D
An ode to the ever elusive beep XD

As soon as Nolan got up, it stopped.
Figures.

I've had unidentified beeping in the house too. It took me a week (and my sanity) to find the beeper (the allegedly lost ryobi comb).
