Because I know you all care SO much, here is my stunning living room, in all it's Christmas decorated glory.

So I'm out Christmas shopping again today, and I walk out of the store and go to my cute, black, Toyota Sequoia, Colin (Firth, not Creevey).  I open up the back, and stand there openmouthed, stunned that all of the packages that I'd bought so far this morning were GONE.  I stood there thinking, "I've been robbed. (*insert big bad words*) Someone stole all of those Christmas presents. " (About $300 worth...  It was a sickening feeling.)  Then I thought, "Why does my car smell like french fries?  I haven't had any french fries.  And what is all this crap spilling out of the storage compartment?"

Long story short, it wasn't my car.

Mine was parked two spaces down, locked.

*headdesk*

I closed the back of the imposter Sequoia, and left quickly.

[personal profile] airmidm, I can fulfill one of your Christmas list wishes, but I'll need that address.  :D

[profile] reenie1, I just need to get a box and go to the UPS store.  :D

We're about to get a buttload of crappy weather...  Sunday night there's supposed to be snow, ice, sleet, more ice....  *glares at mother nature*  Can't it hold off?  I've got stuff to do next week!  (Update:  The house is coming along:  there's sheetrock, the brick's done, and they're texturing the walls.  It's conceivable that we may be in by next December.  Just kidding.  But it'll probably be March.)

The in-laws have the kids.  We had dinner ALONE.  'Twas lovely.  :)

I love that you were like, "this is the tree... yay..."
The yay was weak. But I get that you are excited, cause you have a crap-load of decorations...

Ugh. My parents have a lot too, and I'm usually the one stuck doing it all. *grumbles* So, I don't do anything to my apt. No tree, nothing. Feels great.

Yay! for Colin Firth. LOVE him.

I really didn't want to do anything this year, because we're trying to sell the house. But the boys were, "WHAT? NO TREE? WHERE WILL SANTA PUT THE PRESENTS?!"

Colin Firth ROCKS. *points to icon*

Makes me want to decorate. I was so sick last year I did nothing. You're not done with the tree? It looks great as is. *hmmm* It's so nice and neat, I wonder if you really have boys. LOL

The weather is going to be awful! Oh, did you see the beautiful sunset today? Pink and bright blue colors. It looked fake it was so clear.

I do, they were just at school when I did that. :)

I did see the sunset tonight. It was absolutely gorgeous!

Such lovely pretties! I adore your tree. Which reminds me, I must put mine up today!

It's up, but I'll leave the happy snaps for tomorrow when I've recovered from the drama of decorating it ;)

I read your post just now, after I replied to your comment. Ooooh, Mitch! Don't treat Christmas decorations like that! Silly boy.

It was enough to make me twitch! And him stomp off *smirk*

I think your living room looks lovely. Very homey. I just want grab a cup of herbal tea and sit on your couch and chat. I was surprised by its very non Scrooge-like atmosphere. :)

I lost my car in the parking lot today. I had to hit the panic button on the remote so I could find it. Senior moment at 35? Yes.

I just want grab a cup of herbal tea and sit on your couch and chat.

That would require Katie to find a new napping place! :)

I felt like such an idiot when I opened up someone else's car. Oh, well. I hope there are people around to take care of me when I get dementia. (Next Thursday...)

LOVE the decorations. The swags of green around each door - Love that Katie didn't bother to get up. Laughed my butt off at the car story -- EXACTLY why you should always lock up (and keep your car cleaned and not smelling like French fries).

LOVE that your vehicle is named after Colin. LOVELY!

Thank you. I didn't even put all out decorations up... We're moving after Christmas, and there's only so much packing that I'm going to be forced to do!

Aww! I've left my suburban door open in the Barnes & Noble parking lot before...that was embarrassing as it is always trashed, so I feel for you!

Your living room looks great! My kids put up my tree this year...I should get batteries for my camera so I can post a picture of that particular train wreck. *shakes head* That and some of the Halloween decorations are still up outside along with my holiday wreath hanging on my front door...*headdesk*

I will email you my address, or give it to you if we catch each other today.

Congrats on the house coming along! Will you post pictures when it is finished?

I left a note for you in our open doc...

And yes, absolutely! I'll probably post pictures before then actually. I need opinions about colors.

Wow that's so pretty... and it must have been so much work! Did the boys help? :)

If u ever have any Q's on packing for the shift feel free to ask. I call my family the traveling circus for a reason!

In one word, the breakables. If you don't have professional packers, (I only have that luxury when we are on official moves!) this is the worst part.

I collect newspaper and wrap my glass wear and china in it, making sure I put one wet layer and then two dry layers. This has ensured that my china has survived six moves so far! I'm so careful coz experience has taught me that since the china is really the last thing you unpack, (coz u don't need it immediately) the box that u pack it in tends to stay in a hallway for a bit. And that is never very good for the stuff inside.

Ok, I'm getting off my soapbox now. Sorry to go on! Seriously though, if there is anything I can do to help, (except coming there and packing in person!) drop me a line. I can go on and on when it comes to shifting and moving!

Awww, your Christmas stuff looks great! We need to do ours this weekend (that's why we have two teenagers, to set up the tree and 'deck the halls').

How funny, you got in the wrong vehicle? How many times have I almost done that...? I have a silver SUV, as do about 1/3 the residents in north Phoenix. (Another third own white pickups, and the rest falls under 'everything else'.) Thankfully, I set my alarm when I go to a shopping center. Sometimes that the only way I can find it. Hit the alarm button and see which one goes "beep beep." ^_^

So did your closing date get pushed back two months? I think that's par for the course. At first, we were told August and then it was bumped to October. Why do they do that? Why didn't they just say October? It's not like we're going to say, "Oh, that's too far away. If we can't get our house built in under 5 months, we're not buying from you." :P

Builders are a lot like Used Car Salesmen. They tell you exactly what they think you want to hear.

Your tree is lovely. Plus, it looks like you were able to Satisfy the boys and yet not go too crazy with decorations. In my expert opinion (snickers), this will not impact the selling of your house in any but positive ways.

What is this about a UPS store? How terribly exciting! Can't wait.

I'm more/less done with Christmas. I've purchased all my gifts, but I need to wrap and ship them. I decorated over Thanksgiving, so that is done. Cards. I need to send cards. They sit here, taunting me. Perhaps I'll get to that today...

From: [identity profile] persephone33.livejournal.com

SInce my computer is fried (I'm at Nolan's office right now) I wrote out 82 cards yesterday. Wild.
